Seminar on HKEX ESG Implementation Review and Improving Enterprise Sustainability Management

16 September 2019 | Beijing

The Environmental, Social and Governance Reporting Guide (ESG Guide), issued by Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEx), has now been in place for more than three years. Under supervision, HKEx-listed companies have gradually established environmental, social and governance mechanisms, and continuously improved their ESG governance, practices and disclosures.

Besides these HKEx documents, the United Nations has issued its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the European Commission has published the EU Guidelines on Non-Financial Reporting, the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures has released its recommendations, the China Securities Regulatory Commission has issued a new version of its Code of Corporate Governance of Listed Companies, and Shanghai Stock Exchange has conducted an in-depth exploration of ESG guidelines. Many international organizations are calling for improvements to the financial system to promote responsible investment and the creation of responsible investment funds is accelerating rapidly. Amid the international trend of continuous improvements in sustainable development frameworks, and after consulting with capital market participants, HKEx issued a consultation paper attached to the ESG Guide. This new document enhances disclosure requirements, encouraging companies to improve their ESG management and reduce environmental and social risks.

To explore how enterprises can better meet regulatory requirements and increasing demands from investors and other stakeholders on non-financial information disclosure, as well as internal needs for the integration of sustainable development into management and how to achieve sustainable development targets, on 16 September in Beijing, Deloitte hosts the 3rd Seminar on HKEX ESG Implementation Review and Improving Enterprise Sustainability Management. This event will explore hot topics including sustainable development goals, sustainability management and ESG disclosures with participants from companies, investment institutions, and senior partners from Deloitte China's sustainability services.

We look forward to your participation!
