Guideline for 2019 Deloitte Tax Championship national contest
Rules:
- The national contest includes the semi-final on Saturday and the final on Sunday.
- Semi-final: In the morning, each of the 13 teams will discuss a simulated business case and deliver an electronic presentation report. In the afternoon, the teams will be divided into 3 groups and present to the judges. Each judging panel will score and decide the top 2 teams among each group. After that, each panel will watch the videos of the top 2 teams from each of the other 2 groups and give their scores. In other words, each panel will watch the videos of the 4 top teams they did not observe in person. The panels then convene and determine the top 3 teams to enter the final competition on Sunday based on the sum-up scores given by them for the total 6 top teams from 3 groups.
- Final: In the morning, each of the 3 teams that qualified for the final competition will have a group discussion on a business case and deliver an electronic presentation report. Thereafter they will have a dress rehearsal under the guide of their respective mentors. Finally, they will present and conduct a Q&A before the judge panel one after another according to the draw result. The judges will score their presentation and rank them in 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
- The electronic presentation report has to be in PowerPoint format.
- During the presentation session, each team will present no more than 15 minutes, followed by a Q&A and performance feedback from the judges for 10 minutes.
- Language: Chinese, unless it is specified that a certain question must be answered in English.
