Exploitation results of the holistic renovation and seismic efficiency project

Last October, all e-SAFE partners met for the seventh transnational project meeting and a public event in Athens named ‘Combined seismic and energy renovations of the EU building stock the experience of e-SAFE project’.

During the meeting partners had constructive discussions on the next steps ahead. Deloitte leads the work package on business models, financial schemes, exploitation, and technology transfer. Within this framework Deloitte presented the initial results of the exploitation plan of the project and facilitated the round table discussion. The exploitation plan focuses on investigating, planning, and organising the project’s exploitation strategy followed by the implementation of suitable measures for the wider exploitation of the project results, so that they will continue to exist beyond the project lifecycle. The aim is to maximise the expected impacts of the project by ensuring that its results are commercially and scientifically exploited and disseminated to all the relevant stakeholders and other target groups.

Also, during the second day of the meeting, the e-SAFE consortium organized in Athens the public event “Combined seismic and energy renovation of the EU building stock - The experience of e-SAFE project”. During the meeting, e-SAFE experts exchanged with speakers from leading Greek building institutions, such as the Technical Chamber of Greece and the Union of Civil Engineers of Greece. Speakers addressed the topic of seismic protection and energy renovation of buildings in Greece, and reflected on social aspects related to deep retrofitting.

The project e -SAFE (Energy and Seismic AFfordable rEnovation solutions) aims to contribute to the holistic renovation of the EU building stock by developing an innovative, market-ready system combining energy saving, decarbonization, seismic resistance, time and cost reduction, minimal disturbance, and a co-design protocol. The project includes the demonstration of the e-SAFE system in one real and two virtual pilot buildings.
