A survey of internal audit analytics maturity in financial services
Through working with data centric organisations who understand the value and potential opportunities with data, we have seen tremendous growth and interest in the use of analytics in internal audit.
As a result of this interest we have launched the financial services internal audit analytics survey with the aim of better understanding the maturity of analytics teams, the different vision and approaches to building an analytics capability and some of the key lessons being learnt along the journey. We surveyed 19 large financial services institutions, each with a turnover of at least £1 billion. We asked them a series of questions related to their strategy for internal audit analytics as well as their operating model, covering the areas of people, process, technology and data.
The paper discusses the maturity of analytics within internal audit in financial services organisations and explores a number of key themes that were identified through the analysis.
