Webcast
The sound compensation carousel continues to turn: On 11 January 2024, the final version of the Wertpapier-Institutsvergütungsverordnung (WVV) was published. Together with the EBA guidelines on sound remuneration policies under Directive (EU) 2019/2034 published on 22 November 2021, the WVV forms the legally binding framework for the remuneration systems of the management and employees of medium-sized securities institutions. The new legal requirements of the WVV are to be applied in the relevant remuneration systems for the first time from the following financial year; for securities institutionswith a calendar year-based financial year, this means from 1 January 2025.
In our webcast, we will explain the regulatory changes and options for their proper implementation and provide an outlook on the expectations of the auditor(s) in the audit of remuneration systems as part of the annual audit.
The planned main topics are:
- The amendments to the WVV on remuneration systems: Key guiding principles
- Risk taker analysis according to the WVV
- Selected EBA statements in the Guidelines on Sound Remuneration Policies
- Implementation of WVV in remuneration systems and auditing
