Poland and Germany are closely linked economically. Germany has long been Poland's most important trading partner, measured by the sum of exports and imports. Conversely, Poland's importance for the German economy has steadily increased in recent years. The Brexit has further strengthened this trend. Poland is now Germany's fifth largest trading partner, ahead of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
