Dr. Katja Schwenzfeier

Dr Katja Schwenzfeier is leader of the Deloitte Legal Service Line Real Estate in Germany.
She completed her training as a Legal and Notary Assistant from 1995 to 1998, studying law at the University of Potsdam Germany, from 1998 until 2002. She completed her traineeship in Berlin from 2004 to 2006 and joined Luther the same year. She is a member of the German Institution of Arbitration (DIS).
Dr Katja Schwenzfeier provides comprehensive legal advice to German and international investors in the field of real estate transactions, including the purchase and sale of properties both by way of asset and share deals. She is not only involved as project manager in the due diligence phase of a transfer but also drafts and implements the necessary agreements. In the follow-up of the purchase of one or several properties and/or the acquisition of companies Dr Katja Schwenzfeier also gives advices on how to best integrate new units or companies into the existing corporate structure in strategic terms or helps to shape a new company structure.
Furthermore, Dr Katja Schwenzfeier provides advice on all issues of asset and property management with a focus on commercial units which account for the largest share of her activity. Drafting the associated agreements, enforcement of claims in and out of court and defence against third-party claims as well as any foreclosure measures are also part of her advisory portfolio. The Legal 500 (2018) recommends her in the category "Real estate and construction law" (including dispute resolution).
Dr. Katja Schwenzfeier is a member of Deutschen Institution für Schiedsgerichtsbarkeit e.V. (DIS).
