Global Hydrogen Center of Excellence

Deloitte supports clients in scaling up clean hydrogen and driving large-scale decarbonization.

Our future energy system requires low-carbon molecules to decarbonize hard-to-abate sectors, such as heavy fleet transportation, aviation, maritime, and industrial applications. To this end, clean hydrogen and its derivatives are expected to play a fundamental role in achieving net-zero.

Deploying clean hydrogen at scale is not easy, resulting in limited progress to date and only a handful of projects moving forward to implementation. To enable clean hydrogen, we need demand activation, low-cost supply, new and stable policies, fit-for-purpose infrastructure, and new forms of collaboration, among others.

At Deloitte, we are supporting organizations and operating across ecosystems to drive tangible impact in the market and help realize a clean energy future.

The Global Hydrogen Center of Excellence is dedicated to supporting clients in scaling up clean hydrogen and achieving large-scale decarbonization. The Center focuses on three key areas:

Develop feasibility studies, create innovative business models and value propositions, design new policies to drive investment, collaborate with academic institutions on critical topics, and share insights to help address some of the most complex questions.

Connect ecosystem players and devise new approaches to create value and share risk, define mechanisms to accelerate permitting, support the execution of projects on the ground, audit supply chains, and instill new trackability tools.

Enable resilient supply chains and infrastructure, develop industry talent, and propel enabling technology.

The Hydrogen Center of Excellence is part of Deloitte’s Sustainability & Climate practice, helping organizations build a more sustainable future.
