Life at Deloitte

Why Deloitte

At Deloitte, our success comes from giving you the support to become the ‘best you can be’. You’ll be challenged by the work, the people on your team and the clients we serve. But first things first.

For graduates that feel they don’t know enough about Deloitte, we’ve outlined the top things that you may not know about the company and what you should consider when thinking about where your next move will be.

1. Deloitte is the global leader in Professional Services

Joining Deloitte provides graduates with an opportunity to become part of the worldwide leader in professional services and consulting. And what does that look like? It’s a global network of 286,000 professionals in 150 countries. In Ireland, Deloitte has nearly 3,000 professionals providing Audit & Assurance, Tax, Consulting, Risk Advisory and Financial Advisory services to public and private clients spanning multiple industries.

Deloitte are in the top 5 of Universum's World Most Attractive Employers List 2018 for graduates. In 2017, the firm was ranked by Fortune magazine as one of the ‘100 Best Companies to Work For’. Bloomberg Business consistently names Deloitte as the best place to launch a career and, earlier this year, the firm earned a place on LinkedIn’s 2018 Global Top Companies list.

2. Deloitte is the 2018 Graduate Employer of the Year

In fact, Deloitte toasted quadruple success in 2018 gradireland awards, winning not only Graduate Employer of the Year, but also the Best Innovation on Campus award for our innovative and interactive online application process. The firm also received the silver award in the Best Graduate Training and Development Programme category and the bronze award in the Best Graduate Recruitment Website category.

3. At Deloitte, we work with and for the best

We believe the secret to our success, put simply, is who we are. We work with our clients, not just for them, solving their most complex and challenging problems to deliver the best results. These clients are leaders in their field – we work with most of the Fortune Global 500 companies, including top technology companies who have their headquarters in Ireland.

4. At Deloitte, we develop graduates to lead from day one…and the learning never stops

Focused on technical, client relationship and technology skills, and reinforced by on-the-job learning. Our lifelong learning approach ensures our graduates continue to succeed at every stage of their career.

In 2018, we celebrated some great exam success with two of our people placing 1st in Ireland in the Chartered Accountants Proficiency (CAP1) and CAP2 exams. These results are reflective of the ongoing support we give to students.

As well as financial support, Deloitte’s in-house exam support includes introductory sessions, tutorials, exam preparation workshops, exam helpline and study leave, of which our allowances exceed the recommendations of the relevant professional bodies.

The Deloitte Academy and Greenhouse are designed specifically to host learning events developing you both professionally and personally. Whether it’s our graduate or summer intern induction programme, learning new technologies, studying towards your accounting qualification or presenting with impact, your learning and development is one of our priorities.

Deloitte Unplugged is the firm’s newly launched wellbeing initiative reminding our people to refuel both physically and mentally and change the mindset that we have to be ‘plugged in’ all of the time. After all unplugging is good for all of us – for our health, our creativity, our energy and our focus.

As part of the programme we have a bi-monthly newsletter covering areas such as flexible policies, healthy recipe ideas, mindfulness and articles on health and wellbeing. We also hold information sessions and programmes throughout the year covering fitness, health and diet.

Since our inaugural Mental Health Awareness Week in 2013, we have put a strong focus on mental health awareness in the workplace. Due to its success, the month of May is now dedicated to mental health awareness every year, in conjunction with the national Green Ribbon campaign.

People come to Deloitte for a lot of reasons. Our people are one of them. This is an organisation where you are surrounded by intelligent, forward-thinking people.
