ASHE 2017 

The 6th Edition of CII - Deloitte Annual Status of Higher Education in States and Union Territories (ASHE) 2017 was released at the 7^th Global University - Industry congress organized by CII and AICTE. It is the most comprehensive report on the status of higher education in the country. The report reflects on diverse topics like impact of Industry 4.0 on Higher Education, need for improving research quality in Indian Universities, innovative university and student financing mechanism, and the need for Indian higher education institutions to leverage global collaborations. It also examines the status of higher education in every state and UT in the country based on defined indicators.

The report was released post the panel discussion on “Reforms in Higher Education and the Role the Government Can Play in shaping the Demographics of the Country”. The panel included Prof. Furqan Qamar, Secretary General, Association of Indian Universities; Dr. M P Poonia, Vice-Chairman, All India Council for Technical Education; Mrs. Pankaj Mittal, Additional Secretary-I, University Grants Commission; Dr. Vikram Jha, President-Education, Apollo Hospitals Group – India; and Mr. Anindya Mallick, Partner, Deloitte India.
