Sales Tax and Service Tax Fundamentals
10 April 2019
In the six months since the reintroduction of the Sales Tax and Service Tax (SST), there has been an expansion in the scope of taxable services, as well as multiple changes in the guidance issued by the Royal Malaysian Customs Department (RMCD).
In considering the number of differences between SST 2.0 and the previous version of SST, as well as the GST, it is more important for businesses to ensure that they are correctly complying with SST requirements. This includes adapting to the changing treatments and reporting requirements. Deloitte’s Indirect Tax Team will be holding two intensive half-day workshops focused on Sales Tax and Service Tax, respectively. In each of these workshops, Deloitte Tax experts will provide you with in-depth insights on the operations of the relevant laws, the current interpretations taken by the RMCD and the practical and business considerations relevant to both.
