Tom’s initial foray into Deloitte US-India Offices began in the Audit business, where he promptly realized the organization’s greatest asset: its people. Surrounded by leaders and colleagues who constantly challenged him, Tom thrived in an environment that emphasized both professional growth and personal well-being. His interactions with mentors and peers were not just about work; they were about building relationships and focusing on the people aspect of his career.

Despite his initial accomplishments, Tom’s career journey was not linear. After his first stint, he left the organization to pursue a master’s degree, and rejoined Deloitte US-India Offices with a renewed sense of purpose. Reapplying to the organization felt very welcoming, and his return marked the beginning of a new chapter in his professional life.

Upon his return to the organization, Tom joined the Learning & Development team, where this role offered him an opportunity to facilitate the flagship new hire orientation program, known as DLaunch, across our office locations. This role allowed Tom to showcase his speaking skills and connect with new hires, sharing his journey and inspiring them as they embarked on their own career journey with the organization. However, it was his time away from the organization, pursuing higher education, that truly shaped his perspective. Armed with new knowledge and a broader understanding of the business world, Tom stood before new hires, sharing his journey and emphasizing the importance of resilience, continuous learning, and the value of a supportive community. His story resonated with many, inspiring them to see their roles at Deloitte US-India Offices not just as jobs, but as opportunities for professional and personal growth.
 

Tom’s transformation from an Audit professional to a facilitator of the DLaunch program is a story of growth and adaptability. In his early days at the organization, he honed his skills supporting the audit of various reputed clients, mastering complex audit frameworks, and learning the tips and tricks of Excel. These experiences laid the foundation for his professional development, instilling in him a commitment to hard work and client service. Tom’s journey is an example of how career paths are rarely straightforward. They are filled with twists and turns, each offering opportunities for growth and self-discovery.
