Whether you are reading this as a current undergrad hoping to catch a glimpse into life at Deloitte, or as a new hire that is just settling in and learning the ropes, or as an experienced employee reflecting back on the good old days, I’m sure we can all agree that the transition from school to full-time work is a heck of a change.

Here are four early signs that your adulthood at Deloitte has begun.

You wake up at the same time every day…like every day.

Have you ever wondered how your grandparents wake up at 5 am every single day for no apparent reason? Well, it’s no longer a mystery once you begin your days at Deloitte. With your alarm set at 6 am on every weekday, your biological clock is officially set. But hey, the early bird gets the worm – instead of sleeping in on the weekends, you can invent a new morning routine!

You can’t resist the caffeine in your office

It’s really not your fault that you gained five pounds in your first month because you simply couldn’t stop making trips to those amazing coffee machines in the office. They are quite fascinating. Just sort out your workout schedules before you grab another cup of hazelnut cappuccino.

You work for many bosses

If you have ever watched the movie Horrible Bosses, you may be thinking, what if I’m stuck with a horrible boss for the rest of my life? Fret not folks, because you never get one boss and only one boss at Deloitte. In most cases, your engagement team will have more than two people, and every one of them is your “boss,” or your best buddies by the end of your engagement. That being said, you may be assigned a variety of work with a variety of “bosses.” It’s one of the exciting aspects of working at Deloitte.

You are in control

You are now in charge of your life, whether that means pushing yourself to complete your tasks, to polish your work or to pursue your career goals.  You are responsible for doing your own research and letting others know about your passions. So don’t be afraid to ask for what you want – you will notice that people at Deloitte are willing to listen! Your peers and colleagues will do their best to help you achieve your goals, whatever they may be.

So, you’ve become proactive and responsible for your own choices and decisions. Now that’s the real sign that you are officially in your working adulthood at Deloitte.
