Deloitte Canada appoints Sarah Qadeer as Chief Legal Officer (CLO) and partner

Toronto, November 30, 2020 – Deloitte is pleased to welcome Sarah Qadeer as newly appointed Chief Legal Officer (CLO). Sarah joins as Chief Legal Officer, partner and member of the Executive Team.

Based in Toronto and reporting to Anthony Viel, Managing Partner and Chief Executive, Deloitte Canada, Sarah will be responsible for leading the firm’s legal strategy and overseeing the in-house legal and corporate governance team for Canada and Chile. 

A proven leader, Sarah has had broad and varied experience in corporate and regulatory matters at a leading national law firm and in the capital markets arm of a large financial institution, prior to her tenure as general counsel at The Home Depot of Canada Inc. She is a bilingual graduate of McGill University’s civil
and common law program. 

A passionate community leader, Sarah is the president of Legal Leaders for Diversity and Inclusion, a group of over 110 general counsel across Canada who are committed to advancing diversity and inclusion in business and the legal profession. Sarah has been widely recognized for her business and legal achievements including: WXN Canada’s 100 Most Powerful Women; Canada’s GC Powerlist; and finalist for Canadian General Counsel of Year (Business Achievement).
