Geoffrey's practice focuses on tax planning, with a focus on inbound international taxation as well as intergenerational succession planning. He is also experienced in resolving tax disputes, including at the CRA audit and objection stages and has also represented clients in complex matters before the Tax Court of Canada, Federal Court, Federal Court of Appeal, Supreme Court of British Columbia and Saskatchewan Court of King’s Bench.
Geoffrey began his career as a law clerk with the Tax Court of Canada and prior to joining Deloitte Legal Canada LLP, he was an associate in the tax group of a leading Western Canada full-service law firm.
Education
Geoffrey earned his Juris Doctor at the University of Toronto, where he also completed a Bachelor of Science (Honours) with majors in both math and economics. He was called to the bar in 2012. Geoffrey has completed the CPA In-Depth International Tax Course, all three parts of the CPA In-Depth Tax Course, and CBA’s Tax Law For Lawyers.
