Abdul Basit M. Faysal

A senior manager in Deloitte Canada’s Risk Advisory practice, Basit leads the financial risk and capital management team. As a seasoned consultant with experience in building and leading specialized risk advisory offerings, he has worked extensively with financial services institutions based in North America, South America, and South Asia on initiatives related to risk and capital management, policies and frameworks, organizational design, governance and control, and technology enablement.

Basit is currently focused on lending, capital markets, treasury, risk operating models, governance, enterprise risk management, and CRO and CCO organizational enhancement. He is well-versed in key regulatory topics such as capital and liquidity adequacy guidelines, IBOR transition, model risk management, and operational resilience, among others. He has authored and co-authored thought leadership pieces and has delivered training courses and workshops to clients and regulators on trending topics related to risk management.
