Kevin Laven

Kevin leads the Energy, Resources, and Industrial team within Omnia AI, Deloitte Canada’s data & analytics practice. As a Partner in our Data Science team, Kevin brings over 20 years of experience building and deploying data and analytics solutions for these industries. With a Masters in AI from the U of T Machine Learning lab that created Deep Learning, Kevin has implemented dozens of AI systems across a range of industries including utilities, mining, pipeline, retail, municipalities, and tech companies.

A recognized leader in analytics and AI for operations and technology, Kevin brings a wealth of practical of experience developing and delivering technical solutions to utilities, technology companies, and public sector organizations. He has over 30 publications with the American Society of Civil Engineers and industry organizations on infrastructure asset management, condition assessment, and Non-Revenue Water management, and is a contributing author on two water industry standards (AWWA Handbooks). He has also contributed to multiple patents, as well as successful R&D grant applications valued at over $20M. His technical experience includes machine learning, artificial intelligence, intelligent document processing, cloud data systems, yield optimization, failure statistics, capital efficiency, IoT systems, and acoustic sensors.
