Deloitte has been recognized as the Advisory Services Provider of the Year 2019 by Central Banking Publications, a financial publisher based in London specializing in public policy and financial markets, with an emphasis on central banks, international financial institutions, and financial market infrastructure and regulation. It is the first time a Big Four firm has won the award.

The prestigious Central Banking Awards are known internationally as an important channel to highlight the outstanding performance and achievements of individuals and organizations within the central banking community. Deloitte member firms were recognized for their central banking expertise and technological know-how, including projects on reinventing central banking operations, enhancing resiliency, and fostering a culture of innovation at the Bank of Canada, the development of a blockchain-based trade finance system for the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, and the launch of a fintech hub in Saudi Arabia. The awards also recognize various categories including the best central bank, governor, currency managers, risk managers, and initiatives.

“It is an honor for Deloitte’s central banking practices to be recognized as the standard of excellence in advisory services to central banks. Deloitte has built a central banking network with member firm representatives in more than 125 countries to serve clients,” says Karen Grieve, Global Operations Leader, Sovereign Financial Institutions, Deloitte Global. “Deloitte’s success is the result of practitioners’ technical and regulatory knowledge, combined with Deloitte’s deep understanding of the central banking sector and the ability to provide a wide range of services and innovative solutions to meet clients’ needs. These awards place Deloitte among the central banking community’s leading providers, many of whom were recognized for their work in innovation, risk management, and fintech.”

“Deloitte is extremely proud of the extraordinary accomplishments of its people. Placing clients first and bringing the very best to each opportunity, Deloitte strives to serve the central banking sector in a seamless fashion,” says Anna Celner, Deloitte Global Banking & Capital Markets Sector leader. “Earning this distinction reinforces Deloitte’s commitment to setting a standard of excellence that is unparalleled in the industry. It is both an honor and a privilege to be recognized by Central Banking Publications as best in class, and I thank Deloitte’s clients and industry colleagues for their support and recognition of Deloitte’s people.”

Peter Koo, Deloitte China National Leader of IT advisory and assurance services, says "Deloitte's strengths in fintech have helped major organizations and FIs gear up their fintech and digital capabilities. We are recognized as a market leader by fintech communities across Asia Pacific and have participated in several landmark projects for financial institutions and authorities alike."

"We are delighted to have received this recognition for our work with central banks globally.
