Meet our SAP Graduates

Interested in knowing what it is like to work as an SAP Graduate at Deloitte’s supply chain offering?

Jennifer Bouwer and Damla Cigdem are two consultants in Deloitte’s Supply Chain & Network Operations offering who have participated in the SAP Graduate Programme.

They have launched their careers as SAP consultants through Deloitte’s Consultant Academy, SAP Bootcamp, deep dive training sessions and consultancy tasks on ongoing client projects.

Below you can learn more about Damla and Jennifer and how it is like working as a consultant, bridging business and IT for clients.

Why did you decide to join the programme?

“I actually had no prior experience with Supply Chain before I joined Deloitte, but I always knew I wanted to work at the intersection of business and technology, and that I wanted to help companies solve some of their most pressing problems. The SAP Graduate Programme gives you so much learning in a short amount of time, so for me it’s been the best possible start to my career” – Damla

“I love the combination of business and technology, so that was my main motivation for applying for Deloitte’s SAP Graduate Programme. Helping companies progress through digital transformation has challenged me in a positive way. Especially now, when the world is changing so much, companies need to keep their competitive edge, and I love to help them move forward.” – Jennifer

What are your highlights in the programme?

“In the programme, you’re part of a group where everyone is starting their career, and we’re all on this learning journey together. You also get to travel around Scandinavia and meet your Nordic Deloitte colleagues. It’s just an amazing way to build your network – and it’s a lot of fun as well.” – Damla

“What’s amazing is that the programme really allows you to build your SAP skills from the ground up. Whether it’s basic data or advanced functionality, you really get a thorough introduction to the different modules. From there you can find your own way into other parts of the technology and start focusing on the areas you like the most. I’ve already been part of one of Denmark’s biggest SAP S/4HANA transformation programmes where I worked specifically on the integration to o9, which is an advanced planning tool. Right now, I’m focusing a lot on the planning area. I’ve also started to work more broadly on supply chain strategy. We’re an international team, everyone’s very welcoming, and we have so many exciting projects. You’re guaranteed to have a very steep learning curve, and you can build an amazing network. It’s the best start to your career.” – Jennifer

Any advice for students and future graduates?

“If your dream is to work with business-driven, technology-enabled transformation, then the SAP program is definitely the right place. To me, it all starts with the passion, and then the learning naturally follows. What you’re most interested in, is usually what you become really good at. And companies need Supply Chain, planning and Digital Core experts more than ever before.” – Damla

“You can always do more than you think, keep rising to the occasion and you will find more opportunities will come your way. Keep learning as you go in life, offer sustainable value in this everchanging world.” – Jennifer
