  • New governmental fees from 2024
  • New minimum salary limit
  • New Positive Lists
  • Updated salary statistic

The changes came into effect 1 January 2024.

The governmental fees have increased for residence permit applications in Denmark.

Main applicant fee: DKK 6,290 (2023: DKK 4,670).

Accompanying family member fee per application: DKK 2,880 (2023: DKK 2,635).

A complete overview of all the fee updates can be found here.

New minimum salary limit

The minimum salary limit for the Pay Limit Scheme and Fast Track Scheme, Pay Limit Track, has increased to DKK 487,000 per annum or approximately DKK 40,584 per month (gross salary). Last year, the limit was DKK 465,000 per year.

New Positive Lists

New Positive Lists for people with higher education and for skilled work have been published.

To see which positions are included in the new Positive Lists, see here.

Income statistics updated

The Confederation of Danish Employers’ (DA) salary statistics have been updated and published. The salary statistics will be used in the processing of all applications submitted from 1 January 2024. The salary statistics are updated each quarter, and the next update will come into effect 1 April 2024.

The salary statistics are used to assess if an employee’s offered salary corresponds to Danish standards, which is a requisite for a work permit to be approved.

If you need help determining the employee’s salary, our team can assist.

The income statistics can be found here

Comments

We note that the work permit application fee has increased significantly. This is not in line with the Danish government’s increased focus on helping Danish companies employ foreign nationals.

Employers should be aware of the new minimum salary requirement to ensure that the offered salary for new employees meets the threshold.

We look forward to continuing to provide immigration support to our clients in 2024. Please reach out to us if you would like to hear more about our immigration or relocation services.
