Reminder regarding work permit for accompanying family
It is a requirement for accompanying family members working in the same or closely related company as the sponsor person to hold a separate work permit. The requirement was implemented on 1 January 2021 and is applicable for all accompanying family members holding a residence permit issued hereafter

For accompanying family members working in the same company as the sponsor person, or a company closely related to it, it is a requirement to hold a separate work permit.
There are two different options:
- Customized work permit for accompanying family made only for accompanying family members. The pay-limit requirement is not applicable, but additionally you must hold an accompanying family permit at the same time. No fee to SIRI.
- Regular residence and work permit e.g., under the fast-track or pay-limit scheme where all standard requirements are applicable.
The condition was implemented on 1 January 2021 and includes applicants holding a residence permit as accompanying family granted after this date in which the condition is explicitly stated.
If the applicant is comprised by the condition, the separate work permit must be granted before the employment start date with the same or related company.
Although, the pay-limit requirement is not applicable for the customized work permit, the salary and terms of employment must correspond to Danish standards.
