Deloitte Legal recruits Government & Public Sector expert
Deloitte Legal is strengthening its Government & Public Sector (GPS) practice with proven expert Danny Essing, who joins Deloitte Legal from EY Law as a Partner on April 1, 2022.
Danny Essing has more than 14 years of experience and is an expert in providing legal, tax and strategic advice to the public sector (federal government, states, municipalities) and their associated companies in private and public legal form. His particular focus is on advising on transformation, reorganization, cooperation and innovation projects as well as on organizational development. In this field, he has been in charge of numerous large reference mandates at federal, state and municipal level. He also advises non-profit corporations and foundations. Prior to joining Deloitte Legal, Danny Essing worked for EY Law and PwC Legal, both with a focus on the government sector.
Georg Lehmann, Office Managing Partner Deloitte Legal Dusseldorf: "With Danny Essing, we are gaining a proven public sector specialist who will not only be responsible for the development and expansion of the GPS practice at Deloitte Legal. We are convinced that his expertise will also make a valuable contribution to the further market penetration of our core competencies in the areas of corporate, M&A and commercial - in Dusseldorf and across all locations, especially in times of increasing regulatory requirements."
Thomas Northoff, Managing Partner Deloitte Legal, adds: "The public sector is facing a wide range of challenges and transformational tasks - we are looking forward to further expanding this area at Deloitte Legal. This expansion also underlines the importance of the public sector for Deloitte in all areas of its business. Danny Essing's integration into the Deloitte Government & Public Services team will provide positive momentum in this regard."
Commenting on the motivation for his move to Deloitte Legal, Danny Essing says: "What particularly appeals to me about my new role at Deloitte Legal is being able to expand and play a decisive role in shaping the interdisciplinary advice provided to the public sector at federal, state and municipal level. The challenges have rarely been greater: digitization, decarbonization, modernization of infrastructure, promotion of science and innovation, civil defense and disaster prevention are just a few of the areas in which the federal, state and local governments must shape and invest massively in order to meet the requirements they have set themselves for a modern and sustainable state. I look forward to accompanying this transformation process in the team of Deloitte as a strong partner of the public sector."
