Deloitte advised UPM, Stora Enso and the other shareholders in the divestment of the circular economy company Encore Environmental Services
Deloitte Corporate Finance acted as the lead financial advisor to UPM, Stora Enso and other shareholders of Encore Environmental Services on its sale to Sweden's leading recycling company Stena Recycling.

Encore Environmental Services offers environmental services to companies across Finland and its turnover is approximately 80 million euros. The acquisition will double Stena Recycling's operations in the recycling sector in Finland. In the other Nordic countries, Stena Recycling is already one of the largest players in the recycling industry and a pioneer in the circular economy.
The transaction requires the approval of the competition authorities.
In addition to the corporate finance lead advisory Deloitte advised the owners and the company by providing Financial and Vendor Due Diligence. “It was great to be involved in the transaction, which reshapes the Finnish circular economy industry", says Henrik Wickström, who led the project at Deloitte Corporate Finance.
