The EUDR is a pivotal piece of EU legislation in the fight against deforestation. It will have a wide reach primarily in the consumer industry, affecting any company that sells or exports the relevant commodities and derived products to or from the EU market.

The EUDR requires certain companies to conduct extensive diligence on the value chain to ensure the goods do not result from recent deforestation, forest degradation or breaches of local environmental and social laws.
