Startup Nation in Times of Conflict: The Investor Perspective

Startup Nation in Times of Conflict: The Investor Perspective Amidst “Iron Swords” and under the assumption that these events will have a direct (potentially dramatic) effect on the Israeli ecosystem, we collaborated on a comprehensive investor survey, conducted in January 2024.

The report and its conclusions are based on the answers of over 100 local and global investors, who have invested in Israeli tech before.

According to the report’s findings, despite substantial challenges encountered by the Israeli startup industry over the past year, about 80% of investors stated they do not plan to reduce their investments in Israeli tech in 2024. Notably, nearly half of foreign investors actively engaged in Israel believe local startup valuations do not match the risk premium and expect further declines. The report also reviewed long-term Israeli investment trends, with cybersecurity leading by a notable gap.

This report is brought to you in collaboration with Startup Snapshot, The ZELL Program for Entrepreneurship at Reichman University, FinSec Lab for Cyber Financial Innovation and Consiglieri.
