Deloitte Audit Business Challenge (DABC) 2022

The Deloitte Audit Business Challenge is open to all undergraduate university and college students pursuing an accounting and/or finance degree program in Malaysia.

Participants must work in teams for the challenge. Each team will consist of three (3) members. Team members must be from the same university / college / institution, but they can be from different faculties.

Stage 1 of the Challenge - 22 October 2022

  • Your team will be given an online multiple-choice question test.
  • The online test will begin on 22 October 2022 (Saturday), from 9.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m. & 3.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m.
  • There are 40 multiple-choice questions (including areas on auditing, accounting, ethics, finance, the Companies Act 2016).
  • Each team should assign ONE (1) representative to access the questions and complete the challenge. It is expected that the team address the questions together.
  • The representative will be given sixty (60) minutes to complete the online test from the first login. The total time used to complete the online test will be monitored and will form part of the overall assessment.

 

Stage 2 of the Challenge - 24 October 2022

  • In stage 2, the deliverable is a video submission of no longer than five (5) minutes.
  • The topic will be released on 23 October 2022 (Sunday), via email and DABC Facebook page.
  • Challengers are required to upload a video clip on YouTube, by 6.00 p.m. on 25 October 2022 (Tuesday). Visibility of the video presentation must be set to private and shared with the evaluators via an e-form. Late entries will not be entertained.
  • Marks will be given based on content, depth of issues, research analysis adopted, critical thinking, creativity, and overall presentation.
  • Please note that videos will not be judged based on editing skills. However, please ensure that the video’s visuals and audio are clear.
  • Challengers have full creative control over their video presentation.*

 

Final Stage of the Challenge - 5 November 2022*

  • A workshop will be conducted for all finalists before the final challenge.
  • The final stage will be held on 5 November 2022 (Saturday) at a dedicated venue which will be communicated to finalists via email.
  • There will be eight (8) simulated audit scenarios represented by eight (8) game stations, and finalists will have to complete each individual game station according to the instruction given.
  • After completing the game stations, finalists will then be required to prepare a 10-minute presentation to our esteemed judges.
  • Marks will be accumulated from each game station as well as the presentation.
  • All finalists will be invited to attend the Gala Dinner.
  • Results will be announced at the Gala Dinner and published on DABC Facebook page and website. 

* IMPORTANT: Participants are to adhere to all COVID-19 Standard Operating Procedures throughout the DABC 2022 challenge.
