Triple recognition at the International Tax Review Asia Tax Awards 2020

In the recently announced International Tax Review (ITR) Asia Tax Awards 2020, Deloitte Malaysia has won three ITR awards - two national and one regional.

For the third time in the last four years, we have been named the coveted Malaysia Tax Firm of the Year. We were also recognised as the Transfer Pricing Firm of the Year, with our Transfer Pricing Partner, Theresa Goh being awarded the prestigious title of Asia Transfer Pricing Practice Leader of the Year.

The ITR Asia Tax Awards identifies tax professionals and firms who have demonstrated exceptional track record in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. Winners undergo a thorough judging process combining input from tax practitioners and their clients, who judge based on the firm’s best work. These criteria include the level of innovation demonstrated in solving tax issues, project complexity, as well as the overall impact on clients.

In this region, Deloitte has been named Asia Transfer Pricing Firm of the Year by International Tax Review (ITR), reclaiming its crown this year, having achieved this distinction for four of the last five years.

Deloitte was also awarded the Asia Indirect Tax Firm of the Year, highlighting the global network’s capabilities in assisting on indirect tax matters.

Across Asia Pacific, Deloitte's practices clinched 10 awards at the national level with Malaysia and Taiwan taking the top tax award. Indonesia notably won the top transfer pricing award for the fifth consecutive year, while India and Taiwan scooped their third consecutive win in transfer pricing and tax disputes and litigation, respectively. The ITR assessed the submissions based on complexity, client impact, scale and innovation for work completed between January and December 2019.
