Arjan Schutgens

Sparring partner for management and board of directors in public sector, especially local government. Experience as auditor and adviser of (semi) public sector organizations such as municipalities, social companies and related companies with public-private cooperation (PPS). Numerous projects led in the field of planning & control, risk management and internal control. Internally involved in audits of municipalities, support the audit transformation using data-analytics and advanced project management in public sector audits.

Arjan joined Deloitte in 2003, was admitted as a director in 2018 and in the period 2018-2022 based in Alkmaar, being part of the Amsterdam/Alkmaar community, with the role as community lead of the Alkmaar community. Responsible for talent, HR and culture and involved for the transition of the market positioning of the public sector practice in Cluster North-West.

During 2022 he made the transfer to the Rotterdam Public Sector community, involved with the transformation and innovation agenda in audit and implementation of the national public sector strategy, specifically for local and middle government.

He has over 15 years of experience within the Audit & Assurance practice working with a wide range of clients in public and private sector. He is accredited Greenhouse facilitator for audit transition and elevation labs and Business Chemistry. Member of the supervisory board of the FIOM foundation. Arjan graduated from Tilburg University in Business Economics and Maastricht University in postgraduate chartered accountant.
