Michiel van der Horst

Michiel joined Deloitte in 2001 and is Senior Manager within the international corporate market Audit & Assurance practice based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

Since the start of his career at Deloitte he has served many multinational and national clients within a wide range of industries. He has extensive skills in coordination of international group audit engagements in the broadest sense. Michiel has been involved in audit and assurance services managing topics around restructuring, mergers, demergers and acquisitions, IT implementations, internal controls, accounting framework transitions and comfort letter procedures.

Michiel is actively involved as audit coordinator in the Japanese Service Group (JSG) of Deloitte Netherlands, and has organized several JSG community sessions to stimulate knowledge sharing about common audit topics for Japanese clients as well as interrelated cultural dimensions.

He is “praktijkstagebegeleider” for the Dutch CPA program, is performance coach for professionals within Deloitte Netherlands, including Japanese colleagues working in the audit practice of Deloitte Netherlands for a secondment, and has been part-time external facilitator in Audit Principles at Hogeschool InHolland.
