Deloitte Legal appoints new partner for Legal Management Consulting business

18 January 2023

Deloitte Legal has today announced the appointment of Isabel Parker as a partner in its Legal Management Consulting (LMC) team. Specialising in financial services, Isabel brings over 27 years of experience and follows the appointment of Peggy Pauwels to the LMC team as consumer and TMT industry specialist.

Isabel joins Deloitte Legal from the Digital Legal Exchange, where she worked with leading multinationals to support corporate legal departments with their digital transformation programmes. Prior to this, Isabel spent over 20 years with Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, where she practised as a finance lawyer. Isabel was most recently Freshfields’ chief legal innovation officer, leading on implementation of new technologies for the firm and its clients, and developing innovative client-facing digital products.

Jack Diggle, global lead partner for Deloitte’s Legal Management Consulting practice, commented: “In the last 12 months, Deloitte Legal has added nine new partners and we are pleased to be continuing our growth with the addition of Isabel today. Isabel has deep subject matter expertise in legal digital transformation and proven experience with financial services institutions as they look to digitise their legal workflows. With an understanding of corporate legal departments’ strategic priorities, Isabel recognises the pressures legal teams within financial services institutions face as risk and regulatory landscapes shift.”

Isabel Parker, Deloitte Legal partner, stated: “For legal teams working in the financial services sector, there has never been a more pressing time to digitise legal workflows to keep up with macroeconomic and regulatory pressures. Deloitte Legal is recognised for its expertise in both financial services and the legal services market. I look forward to working alongside Deloitte’s financial services specialists to deliver complementary legal services for our clients that are undertaking essential transformation projects.”

Richard Hammell, Deloitte managing partner for financial services, said: “The financial services industry operates under extensive regulatory scrutiny and needs to meet wide-ranging and multi-jurisdictional compliance requirements as it transforms digitally. Our clients expect an increasing range of expertise and services from us to help develop innovative, resilient, and sustainable solutions. Isabel’s appointment will further enhance our legal and digital services to the industry.”

Today’s news follows the recent announcement of a new Real Estate offering within Deloitte Legal, bringing four new partners to the Manchester office. Deloitte Legal has also appointed five additional partners in the last 12 months, including legal specialists in cyber security, financial services, pensions, employment law, and consumer and TMT.
