Competing for a Cause: Deloitte Community Case Competition

Connecting students with local NFP organizations to deliver community impact

OVERVIEW

Since 2019, the Deloitte Community Case Competition (DC3) has successfully designed and implemented a week-long case competition involving technological, strategic, and human aspects that aims to offer university students the opportunity to provide meaningful recommendations to a partner Not-For-Profit organization. The competition also offers mentorship opportunities with Deloitte professionals.

REFLECTIONS FROM PAST PARTICIPANTS

Thao-Anne Le and Yuan Chu Zi Lao were two of the winners of the inaugural 2019 DC3 where their team developed a capacity-building strategy for Tel-Jeunes in Montreal. Reflecting on her experience, Thao-Anne mentions that participating in the competition helped her develop critical thinking skills, meet other students from across the region, and gain valuable insights from her Deloitte mentor. Since graduation, both Thao-Anne and Yuan joined Deloitte and continue to give back to the community through their involvement with Community Advisory Projects, Deloitte’s volunteer pro bono program.

We were delighted and overjoyed with our experience with Deloitte, and it is a privilege to have been selected to participate in this exercise. Everything was perfect, the quality of the Deloitte team assigned to the project as well as the quality of the work presented to the competition by the students. The benefits for our organization are significant and will have an impact for many years to come.” - Georges Gagné, Board of Directors, Centre de pédiatrie sociale de Montréal-Nord
