Deloitte Tohmatsu Group will implement a supporting scheme for its members under Domestic and Family Violence
Implementing a supporting scheme for all members at Deloitte Tohmatsu Group under Domestic and Family Violence, to continue working and to rebuild their lives
2021年6月1日
Deloitte Tohmatsu Group (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Group CEO: Takashi Nagata) has established a new scheme to support its members who are victims of Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) to continue working and to rebuild their lives.
Since the outbreak of COVID-19, the number of DFV incidents has been on the rise due to various factors, including economic instabilities such as decrease in income level, changes in the way families function due to remote work, and more stress from quarantine. From April 2020 to March 2021, the number of DFV consultations nationwide reached 190,030, which is 1.6 times more compared to the previous year. (Research by the Japan Cabinet Office) DFV takes all sorts of forms, including physical, mental, and sexual, and it denies human dignity, leads to controlling of victims, and has a major impact on work, family, and even life itself.
Deloitte Tohmatsu Group believes that it is important for victims of DFV to re-start their lives while continuing to work in order to secure a safe living environment free from control. Workplace support is effective, and we will start the following support for all our members under DFV including the case between parent-child relationship, for those who are unmarried, and those with same-sex partners.
- Providing and paying for one-stop support service in partnership with DFV victim support organizations
- Granting special leave to recover from damage caused by crimes including DFV
- Providing DFV Support Handbook including the further details of the above and to promote understanding within the firm
One of the vision at Deloitte Tohmatsu Group is "Well-being Society[TY1] " -which consists of three levels; the individual level, starting with each person (Personal); the social level, the collection of local communities (Societal); and the global environment level, which is the foundation of all these levels (Planetary). This initiative aims to create an environment where all the members can maintain their physical and mental health and secure their own personal well-being even when faced with difficulties.
