Practice
Hiroshi is a Partner of DT Legal Japan and he specializes in commercial disputes, compliance/risk management and general corporate matters. Clients come to him because of his broad legal practice range, his reputation and track record of reducing their potential risks and delivering an outcome that the client wants. Most of Hiroshi’s practice is multi-jurisdictional, having had considerable experience working in major international law firms. From June 2022, Hiroshi serves as General Counsel for Deloitte Tohmatsu LLC.
His recent experience includes:
- Disputes: Representing several Japanese and global companies in commercial litigation, civil preservation and enforcement matters not only before Japanese courts, but also non-Japanese courts. He also advises on international arbitration matters at numerous institutions including JCAA, ICC, TOMAC and works closely with local counsel on these matters
- Compliance/Risk Management: Advising on competition law related matters in Japan, EU and the US, both in investigations and transactional matters. Hiroshi also advises on the Japanese Unfair Competition Prevention Act, the Subcontractors Act, the Act against Misleading Advertisement, data protection matters (including the Personal Information Protection Act) and various employment laws and regulations
- General Corporate: Providing legal advice regarding foreign companies’ expansion into Japanese markets and day-to-day corporate matters for both Japanese companies and Japanese subsidiaries of foreign companies
