Ryota has been advising global conglomerates covering a broad range of sectors for more than 16 years. He specialises in corporate and M&A transactions (including equity financing), and had served as Corporate/M&A Partner both for a major international law firm and one of the big-four law firms in Japan before joining DT Legal Japan.
Examples of his recent transactions include:
- Advising four major TSE listed energy business companies on integrating their LP Gas businesses
- Advising a major TSE listed metal mining company on its business integration with a metallic-products manufacturer, including restructuring overseas subsidiaries in Southeast Asian countries
- Advising a TSE listed semiconductor manufacturer on its capital and business alliance through TOB with a US-based distribution company
- Advising a TSE listed pharmaceutical company operating mainly in the U.S. to acquire a pharmaceutical laboratory company
- Advising major international lenders’ group of audio device manufacturers operating mainly in the US on its recapitalisation transaction through a debt to equity swap in an out-of-court restructuring proceeding
- Advising a major TSE listed precision equipment manufacturer on acquiring a precision equipment manufacturing business from a U.S. manufacturer having businesses in US, UK, Germany, Singapore, Malaysia and Taiwan
- Advising a major TSE listed metal mining company on its investment through a JV in a copper mine development project in Chile
Advising a major TSE listed chemical company on restructuring its business in Brazil
