What might work, working and workers look like in the future? How can organizations help their workers adapt, reskill, and thrive? How can individuals unlock their full potential and thrive in a world of constant disruption while still maintaining their sense of self? Will organizations continue to be relevant in face of technological disruption?

Our collective experience of the global pandemic stretched the boundaries on how we worked and left many re-evaluating why we worked. Firms can no longer rely on traditional notions of what work and working should look like; conversely workers can no longer expect be secure in traditional jobs that are quickly made redundant with accelerated adoption of technology.

As we rethink the relationship between workers and firms, leaders will need to understand the changes in the motivations for work; shifting worker-firm dynamics from transactional to relational; and how automation can help workers and firms focus on reskilling for resilience.
