Duncan Rotherham

With a focus on energy and net-zero transformation, Duncan leads our energy system pathways modelling services.

For more than 25 years, Duncan has built and managed advisory businesses at the forefront of energy, environmental, and carbon policy, regulation, and markets; energy systems and transition; and emission and environmental management systems with clients across industry, government, and financial services. With his vast knowledge and experience in energy and carbon markets, he has supported international, national, and sub-national governments in the design and deployment of climate and energy policy and led decarbonization analysis and corporate strategy development and implementation work with electric and gas utilities, oil and gas producers, and a broad spectrum of heavy industrials.

Duncan has led hundreds of projects in Canada, North America, and around the world that required a combination of policy, technical, analytical, strategic, and financial acumen across many sectors of the economy. Recognized as a leader with a career of outstanding work in sustainability, he was named to Canada’s Clean50 list in 2021 as an exceptional contributor to the clean economy in the Consultants & Enablers category. He has a graduate diploma in ecotoxicology from Concordia University (1997) and a BSc in biology from the University of Victoria (1995).
