Laurent Moons

Laurent is a Partner in Deloitte’s Indirect Tax team, based in Montreal. He started his indirect tax career at Deloitte in 2002 and worked in the indirect tax field in Brussels, London, Riyadh and, mostly, Montreal, where he advises clients with their Canadian and international indirect tax needs. Laurent also worked as Global Indirect Tax Manager at a Montreal based global fashion retail company.

Laurent’s clients span several industries, from betting and gaming to retail, from manufacturing to airlines. While Laurent focuses on supply chain alignment, he assists his clients with legislative interpretations, audit, appeals and voluntary disclosures, systems set up, etc. He is also involved in several large indirect tax recovery projects.

Laurent taught European VAT at Sherbrooke University, part of the faculty at CPA’s GST/HST in-depth course and is a frequent speaker at various indirect tax forums. He is also a member of the CPA Canada Commodity Tax Committee and is ranked as a “Highly Regarded Practitioner” in the World Tax Leaders 2024 rankings.
