Deloitte’s 2023 Global Human Capital Trends

New fundamentals for a boundaryless world

In a boundaryless world, work isn’t defined by jobs, the workplace isn’t a specific place, and many workers aren’t traditional employees. Those who partner with workers and experiment with what’s possible will create sustainable work models and elevated outcomes—making work better for humans and humans better at work. Deloitte’s 2023 Global Human Capital Trends survey polled 10,000 business and HR leaders across every industry, with 105 countries participating. The survey data is complemented by interviews with executives from some of today’s leading organisations.

The Gen Z and Millennial Survey in Switzerland

What drives and motivates the younger generations entering the workforce in Switzerland? How do you attract and retain Gen Z and Millennial talent amid the Great Resignation? The Deloitte Global 2022 Gen Z and Millennial Survey has found that both generations are deeply concerned about their futures and the state of the world. Stress and burnout levels are high, with workplace mental health challenges and difficulty achieving a good work/life balance among the top reasons for Swiss Gen Zs and Millennials to leave their jobs. Beyond this, the young workforce is dedicated to driving societal change and is pushing their employers to take action against the climate crisis.

Moving your organisational strategy from jobs to skills

Do jobs really define what we do? Increasingly, as work evolves to be more about nimbly responding to rapid changes in our environment than about standardised work designed for scalable efficiency, the answer is no. Read our report for our complete research findings, including how leading organisations are transforming themselves into skills-based organisations, key challenges and how to overcome them, and what skills-based organisations might mean for the future of work.

The elevated talent and culture agenda in the boardroom

To understand how the pandemic has changed conversations in the boardroom, Deloitte interviewed Chief Human Resources Officers from 15 leading organisations across multiple industries, including financial services, consumer products, technology, telecommunications, energy, retail, manufacturing, and hospitality. Learn from their feedback on the role of today’s CHRO.

Tech Trends 2022: A human capital perspective

As work and technology chase one another into the future, they have the potential to spiral continually higher together—or to fly off in incompatible directions. What can determine the difference? Vision. Organisations with a comprehensive understanding of the moment are more likely to embrace and unlock the value of human capital technology.

Build trust in diversity, equity, and inclusion commitments

Since the spring of 2020 many organisations have made public commitments to address social disparity and injustice and have established or expanded diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives for their current and future workforce. After more than a year of accelerated efforts, questions arise. Do workers trust their organisations’ commitment and efforts thus far? And how might this change going forward? Explore our new video on building trust in DEI.
