OTP Bank Plc. has entered into an agreement to acquire majority ownership of Ipoteka Bank in Uzbekistan and its subsidiaries. Ipoteka Bank is the 5th largest commercial bank in Uzbekistan based on total assets with a market share of 8.5% (October 2022 data). The agreement was signed in December 2022 and the Transaction is expected to close during the first half of 2023 subject to the necessary regulatory approvals. Deloitte provided due diligence services to OTP throughout the Transaction.
