This survey was designed to uncover perspectives of New Zealand CFOs on their role in relation to sustainability, and how their organisations are progressing sustainability activities. The survey was completed by CFOs and those in similar roles.
The 2022 survey asked similar questions as in 2021, with an additional spotlight section. This spotlight section is intended to capture the current sustainability trends or issues of the year. This year we focused on reporting readiness. Sustainability progress appears to remain unchanged from 2021, and the same barriers remain.
In addition, the survey shares how CFOs – and others in leadership positions – can accelerate action. Sustainability sits firmly with the CFO, and in this report we elaborate on why that is, but also how to leverage the CFO role for further action.
