New grant schemes supporting the R&D and investment projects of large enterprises
We would like to draw the attention of our Clients that new grant schemes aimed at supporting the research and development and investment projects of large enterprises have recently been launched, with new types of training grants set to become available in the near future.
Changes on the on the Excise Tax
According to the bill, the energy taxes law would be integrated in the excise tax law in the interest of a uniform regulation within the EU. As a result, both the currently effective Act CXXVII of 2003 and Act LXXXVIII of 2003 on Energy Taxes will lose effect and be replaced by a new excise regulation with significant changes both in terms of content and structure

Domestic implementation of the Union Customs Code
On 31 March 2016 the Hungarian Parliament adopted the National Act on Implementation of the Union Customs Code (“Customs Act”). This Act includes the domestic legislation, which complies with the Union Customs Code („UCC”).

Delegated Act and Implementing Act of the Union Customs Code
The Delegated Act and the Implementing Act of the new Union Customs Code were officially published on 29 December 2015.
These regulations entered into force on 18 January 2016, the 20th day following the date of publication. The Implementing Act and the Delegated Act will be applicable as of 1 May 2016.

Optional simplification in the settlement of the environmental tax liabilities until 31 January 2016
If your company as a polluter of marginal quantity or the obligor placing vehicle components or accessories that are subject to the environmental tax on the domestic market, using them for own purposes, or purchasing them for stock, you have the option to fulfil the environmental tax payment obligation by paying a flat tax.
