Deloitte recognized among “World’s Best Workplaces™” and “World’s Most Attractive Employers”

- Business students rate Deloitte #1 most attractive employer for the auditing and accounting industry in Universum survey.
- Deloitte secures spot on “World's Best Workplaces™” 2020 list.
Great Place to Work® and Fortune today recognized Deloitte as one of the World’s Best Workplaces™ for 2020. Deloitte ranked 22nd on this year’s list. The announcement follows Deloitte’s inclusion earlier this month in Universum’s “World’s Most Attractive Employer” ranking, an honor it has received 12 consecutive years. Deloitte maintained its top-five overall position in the Universum survey of undergraduate business students and was the top-rated professional services organization.
“These achievements reflect Deloitte’s commitment to provide an inclusive work environment where people can grow and succeed,” says Michele Parmelee, Deloitte Global Deputy CEO and Chief People and Purpose Officer. “Being on these lists affirms that Deloitte’s efforts to create an exceptional learning environment, offer flexible working options and empower people to make an impact beyond their day-to-day roles aligns with the values of current and future professionals.”
Jungle Wong, Deloitte China Chief Talent Officer, says, "At Deloitte, we adopt a 'people-first' approach, with a focus on talent experience. We are incredibly proud of these two global recognitions, which highlight Deloitte China's dedication to building a diverse, inclusive workplace that incorporates inspirational mentorship and team collaboration, meeting the needs of future talent and the next generation workforce. These highly-prized achievements also affirm our high value, high tech, high touch approach to talent management. Looking ahead, we will continue to support digital innovation talent and nurture world-class talent, enabling them to make an impact that matters in the 'new normal'."
Both lists recognize top employers based on a holistic set of criteria. The “World’s Best Workplaces™” list serves as a corporate trust index, measuring the behaviors that create a trusting and inclusive environment and culture. With a pool of more than 10,000 organizations participating in the survey process, only those with the highest marks on company values, leadership, management and people, and policies and practices are selected. This year, Deloitte professionals from around the world credited Deloitte for creating an exceptional employee culture, a high-trust environment, and workplaces that are fair and equal for all.
Universum’s “World’s Most Attractive Employer” list draws from a survey of more than 235,000 business and engineering students in the world’s 12 largest economies.
Students evaluate employers based on 40 characteristics to reveal what new entrants to the workforce consider most important regarding employment decisions.
“To be a resilient organization that makes a tangible, positive impact for Deloitte clients and society as a whole, we need to truly understand what high-performing people want and need from their employers and invest in a talent strategy that stands out from competitors,” Parmelee says. “Deloitte has always been good at developing leaders, but I believe the focus we place on inclusiveness and having a purpose beyond profit has especially captured people’s attention.”
“Deloitte believes that an inclusive culture, underpinned at all times by respect, provides the foundation for a diverse and vibrant organization,” Parmelee added. “We want everyone to feel they can be themselves and thrive at work and we are consistently focused on the everyday culture that our people experience.” Additionally, steps have been taken to ensure all Deloitte people have the resources they need to succeed throughout their careers. For example, Deloitte has endorsed the United Nations’ Standards of Conduct for Business: Tackling Discrimination against LGBTI People and is a proud member of the Partnership for Global LGBTI Equality.
Deloitte’s commitment to balance profit with purpose is evident in its efforts to help people and advance responsible environmental practices. Through its WorldClass ambition, Deloitte seeks to reduce social inequality and support disadvantaged communities by providing job skills, improving educational outcomes, and increasing access to opportunities for 50 million people by 2030. And with its recently announced WorldClimate initiative, Deloitte is pledging to achieve net-zero emissions by 2030, operate green, and educate its approximately 330,000 professionals to become agents of change through sustainable choices at home and at work.
