Deloitte 2013 Cleantech Top 20 program opens for nomination
Driving the future of cleantech and a cleantech future
Published: 19 August 2013
The Deloitte 2013 Cleantech Top 20 Program ("The Program") that recognizes fast growing cleantech companies in China is now open for nomination. Co-organized by Deloitte China and venture capital company Tsing Capital, the program carries the mission to drive the development of the cleantech sector for a cleantech future in China.
"Like other countries, China is faced with the substantive environmental challenges and the development of cleantech industries plays an important role in helping to address environmental issues. As such, we hope to continue leveraging our program to identify fast growing cleantech companies and those which make significant contribution to environmental efficiency," said Mr. William Chou, National Managing Partner, Technology, Media and Telecommunications Industry, Deloitte China.
Companies within the sub-sectors of the cleantech industry are eligible to participate in the Program and these sectors include new cleantech energy, energy conservation, environmental protection, new materials, sustainable transportation, bio-agriculture and clean manufacturing. Accolades will be presented to companies based on their accumulated revenue growth and how much they have contributed to environmental efficiency for the past two years from 2011-2012.
"As a secondary objective, we hope to make our program a viable platform for participants to meet with other peers for discussion of key challenges and opportunities within the cleantech sector. More importantly, we hope to provide an avenue for cleantech companies to raise capital by bridging them with private equity and venture capital investors, who will also participate in our program. This also explains the partnership between Deloitte and Tsing Capital, which focuses on venture capital investment within the cleantech arena, said Mr. Peter Fung, Cleantech Industry Lead Partner, Southern Region, Deloitte China added.
Applications and nominations will be closed on 31 October 2013 and the winning results will be announced in an award presentation ceremony on 5 December 2013. Only companies registered in or with their major business on the Chinese Mainland are eligible for participation. To join the Program, companies are required to submit their financial results for the past two financial years (2011-2012) and should achieve at least RMB 300,000 in operating revenue for the first year and RMB 500,000 for the second year.
