Demonstrating the firm's commitment to its people's health and safety

Deloitte China, in collaboration with the HKSAR Government, organized a vaccination site for its people to join voluntarily today in its Hong Kong office; where over 170 partners and employees received the Fosun Pharma/BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine.
As part of the Government's outreach COVID-19 vaccination program, the vaccination site was set up in Deloitte's office at 35/F One Pacific Place according to the operational arrangements and standards of Community Vaccination Centres. The vaccination service was provided by visiting medical team, while the office has been reconfigured with dedicated areas for registration, waiting, vaccination and resting. The firm will also arrange on-site vaccination for the second dose on 11 June.
"At Deloitte China, our people's health and safety are our top priority. Since the onset of the COVID-19 outbreak, we've adopted a 'people-first' approach by offering support and flexibility to our people," says Edward Au, Deloitte China Southern Region Managing Partner. "We have been working together with the HKSAR Government to host a vaccination site at our office since April, and are glad to be able to provide a convenient option for our talent to receive the vaccine in the workplace."
Highlighting well-being as an integral part of Deloitte's "4+1" culture (namely courage, innovation, inclusion, well-being + integrity); those who received the vaccine are given a wellness kit and entitled to take the rest of the day off to get rested. For extra protection against potential side effects, the firm's insurance program offers additional hospital cash in case of hospitalization after the COVID-19 vaccination.
Deloitte China has been raising the awareness of the COVID-19 vaccine through various channels. Earlier this month, the firm organized two internal health webinars with a medical expert sharing his professional knowledge on the COVID-19 vaccines and addressed some of the common misconceptions surrounding the vaccines. Some partners and employees, who already received their vaccines, also took part in a video aimed at spreading the word to a wider audience through the firm's social media channels.
"We would like to thank the HKSAR Government for their support of this important initiative. The firm will continue to make appropriate arrangements to protect our people and make an impact that matters for society by doing our best to support the restoration of safety and normality of the community that we live in," adds Au.
