Diversity in the accounting profession - Half the Sky

In 1986, the first female partner was admitted to the partnership in Deloitte China, being one of the few in what was at the time a male-dominated industry. It has been estimated that in the coming years, women will equal and then slightly outnumber their male counterparts in the accounting profession. Currently, in Deloitte China, around 60 percent of our firm's professionals are women so the Chinese saying that women hold up half the sky truly applies in our firm!
