Participation in "Male Leaders Coalition for Empowerment of Women"
Deloitte Tohmatsu Group is continuing to work towards gender equality through various initiatives, including monitoring to prevent gender pay gap. However, in Japan, gender gap still exists as an issue that is rooted deep in our society, and in many situations, gender equality can not be achieved just by empowering women. In order to change our society, Kenichi Kimura, our Group CEO, believes that the most importantly, “the top management should take lead in women’s empowerment and changing the mindset of people, especially the male leaders who are currently the majority of decision-making positions". Likewise to our former CEOs, Kimura is a proud member of the "Male Leaders Coalition for Empowerment of Women", which is managed by the Gender Equality Bureau Cabinet Office and is committed to promoting women’s empowerment in Japanese society.

It is a group of male executives to promote initiatives in line with the "Declaration of Action" to empower gender equality and to accelerate corporate initiatives by building a network among participants to share good practices and challenges. By proactively communicating insights and initiatives internally and externally, participants will contribute to building a social momentum for gender equality and women's empowerment.Currently, approximately 280 corporate executives, governors, and mayors are participating.
