Deloitte Tohmatsu Publishes a whitepaper “Growing on the Cloud – How cloud technology and cloud service providers have a positive impact on Japan’s economy and society”

Commissioned by AWS, this whitepaper illustrates the benefits cloud technology provides for Japanese companies and society. The paper also contains abstracts of a series of interviews Deloitte conducted with various industries’ IT practitioners to showcase practical examples of the positive impact cloud has made for their businesses.

Deloitte Tohmatsu Consulting LLC., a member of the Deloitte Tohmatsu Group, published a white paper on "Growing on the Cloud – How cloud technology and cloud service providers have a positive impact on Japan’s economy and society". This whitepaper, commissioned by Amazon Web Services Japan, G.K. , outlines how cloud technology positively impacts, both directly and indirectly, the Japanese economy and society, and covers a range of best practices Japanese businesses can implement to maximize the benefits of shifting onto the cloud.

The whitepaper provides insights from Japanese cloud users and practitioners through a series of interviews across a wide range of sectors from finance to education are conducted, to showcase key cloud technology benefits including cost benefits, fast scalability, security features and summarizes direct and indirect benefits and societal and economic contributions of cloud.

  • Where possible, choose the provider that cause less trouble and allows smooth offboarding when switching to another provider, to avoid any “lock-in”.
  • Thoroughly check what security functions and certifications are available to you, and whether they meet your specific needs and other regulatory requirements before the adoption and on a regular basis after the adoption.
