The DEI Committee, comprised of the Group CEO, CHRO and Business Leaders, has been established to accelerate initiatives on Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI), focusing on important themes, with the strong commitment by our top management.

We are empowering Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) not only with our own members at Deloitte Japan, but also with our colleagues all around the world and various stakeholders in the society.

Learn what DEI means to us, our thoughts, and the stories behind our initiatives.

Deloitte Tohmatsu Group embedded the concept of "Equity" into D&I and has evolved its approach to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI). We believe there is no one-size-fits-all, therefore aim to provide equitable support, systems and opportunities for each individual to thrive.

Definition of Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DEI) at Deloitte Tohmatsu Group

  • Diversity

Consists of members with different background factors that are both visible and invisible -gender, nationalities, sexual orientations, gender identities, culture, religions, value, and/or experiences.

  • Equity

We aim for “Equity”-considering all the differences of each person and provide what is best to achieve the goal, rather than “Equality” as we believe there is no one size fits all.

  • Inclusion

Everyone feels being accepted ("Belonging"), their diverse skills and strengths are recognized ("Uniqueness"), and that they are provided with equal opportunities and resources ("Fairness").

Deloitte Tohmatsu Group -as a professional firm with the purpose of making an impact that matters in this ever-changing world, has been consistently challenging for transformation, which certainly includes promotion of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI).

We will continue to empower DEI not only within our Group, but also in our society to create an environment where individuals thrive - recognizing own growth, respecting and leveraging various differences that individuals naturally have -including gender, sexuality, race, ethnicity, cultural differences such as religion and language, and disabilities etc.

I know it is easier said than done, however, I believe our efforts and challenges paving our way forward, can contribute to bringing change to our society. Deloitte Tohmatsu Group believes DEI is the most valuable way to bring changes for individuals, our clients and the society, embracing one of our Shared Values "Lead the way".
