Deloitte Tohmatsu announces Strategic Collaboration with US-based QuEra to Accelerate Quantum Innovations in Japan

The collaboration aims to raise awareness of the technology, develop subject matter experts, and promote innovation among businesses, academia, and startups to prepare Japan for transformation by quantum computing

Deloitte Tohmatsu Group (hereinafter referred to as “Deloitte Tohmatsu”) has started working with QuEra Computing Inc. (hereinafter referred to as “QuEra”), the US-based quantum computer developer, to further advance the quantum industry in Japan. The collaboration, reinforced by an investment in QuEra by Deloitte Tohmatsu Financial Advisory LLC, a group company of Deloitte Tohmatsu, aim to drive innovation among business and academic players in the field.

Quantum technology will be able to process and solve problems beyond the ability of classical computers, shortening what may take hundreds and thousands of years to mere months and hours. The technology is seen as a driver of extensive transformation in society and businesses. As recent advancements in quantum technology have made its practical use more of a reality, Japan and the rest of the world need to be ready for the quantum transformation. Recognizing this, Deloitte Tohmatsu and QuEra have agreed to join hands in raising awareness of the technology, developing subject matter experts, and promoting innovation among businesses, academia, and startups.

Joint initiatives will cover the following areas:

  1. Working together to raise awareness of quantum computing technology
  2. Creating foundations and opportunities for developing quantum experts
  3. Conducting joint research with academic institutions
  4. Collaborating with businesses to develop use cases
  5. Launching and supporting quantum startups
