Through the Deloitte Impact Foundation, Deloitte is committed to bring a positive impact to society. We believe that we can make the most difference by sharing our core competences, knowledge and network in societal initiatives to make an impact in the fields of education & employment, sustainability and inclusive society.

A culture of making an impact

Via the Deloitte Impact Foundation, Deloitte is committed to performing pro bono work and give back to society via a large variety of societal initiatives for NGO’s, non-profits and start-ups. The Deloitte Impact Foundation has two approaches to its initiatives to impact our society, but also our people and our clients – creating a win-win situation for all stakeholders involved. 

Our two approaches for Deloitte Impact Foundation initiatives

I. Employee-led initiatives

Through our internal social engagement platform all Deloitte NL colleagues can start their own initiative or join an existing one to create societal impact. All colleagues can spend a percentage of their working time on such initiatives which are supported by the board of Deloitte. They are encouraged to get involved in issues and causes that are close to their hearts.  

All these employee-led initiatives together make a great impact on society and that’s not all. Participating in initiatives our colleagues are most passionate about does not only give them the satisfactory feeling of doing good, but also increases their engagement at Deloitte by providing unique learning experiences, broadening their internal and external network and teaching them new possibilities of collaborating. II. Maximising impact through collaboration 

The world today is faced with major global and local challenges on societal, environmental and economical level, and urgently needs to find new sustainable paths. Deloitte’s global network enables us to collaborate with external partners to contribute in addressing some of society’s most challenging issues. Therefore, we have chosen specific eco-systems to make a more significant, visible and enduring impact by working together.

Our focussed commitment to society

As a large professional services firm in the Netherlands, Deloitte has both the ability and the responsibility to do good for society and make a positive difference. To focus and optimise our impact, all our initiatives relate to one or more of the themes below.  

Through the Deloitte Impact Foundation, Deloitte…

1. empowers people for a better future through WorldClass.

Deloitte’s Global WorldClass program intends to positively impact 50 million futures worldwide by 2030. In the Netherlands, our WorldClass initiatives focus on education and employment and indirectly also support our Dutch economy in the long term.

Through initiatives such as our National Money Exam and Building Bots with Kids, we help people to get where they want to be in the future.  

2. protects our natural world through sustainability initiatives.

Through our international sustainability-related initiatives we protect our natural environment by addressing the root causes and effects of global warming and degradation of land, water and air. This focus area aims to support future generations on our planet to live in a healthy and sustainable environment.

3. contributes to an inclusive society. 

This final, broad theme applies only to our employee-led initiatives to allow our people to start an initiative that is close to their heart or even in their local community. The initiatives provide support for challenges related to the quality of life in the Netherlands such as living conditions, health, loneliness, safety and economic welfare. Initiatives may have a national or local scope, and their tenure may be of a temporary or long-lasting nature.
